Ana Guevara, RMHCI
Ana is a Florida Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern (IMH26604) and is completing her hours towards licensure under a qualified supervisor. Ana is bilingual and is able to provide counseling services in English as well as Spanish.
She grew up in Northern Virginia in a wonderfully diverse community, which sparked her curiosity about different cultures and life experiences. Ana is an Air Force Veteran, which gave her the opportunity to travel the world and connect with people from all walks of life.
Ana enjoys working with children, teens and adults who may be experiencing adjustment disorders, depression, and anxiety, as well as adults experiencing relationship issues, and those navigating challenges within the veteran and minority communities. She is especially passionate about working with individuals who are ready to begin their journey toward better mental and physical health.
Specialties
Children and Teens
Ana has experience working with children and teens ages 10+. Ana believes in taking a client centered approach and building a strong rapport with the young people she works with, as it allows them to feel comfortable and welcome in the therapeutic environment. Ana helps her clients navigate issues such as anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, behavioral challenges, parent/child relationships, school related issues, and more.
Veterans, Active Duty Military and First Responders
As an Air Force veteran herself, Ana understands the unique complexities and mental health challenges that come with having served in the Military. Our therapy services are specifically designed to support the mental health needs of military veterans and first responders, including law enforcement officers, firefighters, paramedics, and emergency personnel. These individuals often face high-stress situations, traumatic experiences, and cumulative emotional burdens that can significantly impact their well-being.
We provide a safe, confidential, and culturally competent environment where veterans and first responders can explore their experiences and build tools for resilience and healing. Ana has specialized training in trauma-informed care and evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) both of which are effective in treating conditions like PTSD, depression, anxiety, and substance use disorder.
Christian Counseling
Ana’s faith plays a big role in her life, and if requested, she can incorporate Christian based counseling into sessions. Christian counselors use both evidence-based psychological methods and Scripture to help clients work through issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, addiction, marital problems, and life transitions.
Christian counseling places a strong emphasis on the client’s spiritual life, encouraging a deeper relationship with God as a foundation for personal transformation. It is often sought by individuals or couples who desire counseling that respects and reinforces their Christian belief.
Ana accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield and Aetna Insurance and is also able to offer self-pay sessions.
