Connie Kremser, RMHCI

Hi, I’m Connie, a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern

Before becoming a counselor, I worked as a Funeral Director, where I witnessed firsthand how deeply loss impacts people and how difficult it can be to function “as normal” when life has been completely changed. Those experiences shaped my understanding of grief and the many ways it touches our lives.

Over time, I came to realize that grief extends far beyond the death of a loved one. We experience loss in countless ways — some public and visible, such as divorce, job loss, miscarriage, or a child leaving home; and others deeply private or unseen, such as the end of an affair, an abusive or taboo relationship, abortion or adoption, recovery from addiction, changes in health or mobility, or the loss of dreams and identity. These hidden losses often carry a unique kind of pain, made heavier by shame, secrecy, or the feeling that we can’t talk about them. Without acknowledgment or support, healing can feel impossible.

Every loss — whether visible or invisible — hurts. Grief can be overwhelming, leaving us feeling anxious, depressed, ashamed, restless, numb, or completely alone. I believe that therapy provides a safe and powerful space to process these emotions, find understanding, and begin to heal.

I hold a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, and an Associate’s Degree in Mortuary Science.
