Sarah Bauer, RMHCI, CRC
I'm Sarah, a Florida Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern (IMH24821) at Clearwater Counseling. I graduated with a Master’s in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling and am completing my hours toward licensure under a qualified supervisor. I work with teens, young adults, adults, and older adults.
I believe the purpose of therapy is to empower folks to navigate the challenges and changes of life. I enjoy working with clients who are adjusting to life changes such as graduating from school, career changes, health events, grief, disability adjustment, and retirement, as well as those experiencing anxiety and depression. Change can be overwhelming, but it can also be a chance for new and unexpected growth. Therapy is a space to reconnect with the power and wisdom you already have, to explore new skills and perspectives, and to continue to write your unique life story.
I utilize evidence-based therapies including Solution Focused Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Solution Focused Therapy helps us break away from old patterns that aren't serving us and to reconnect with our strengths and goals as we lay a new path forward. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy guides us to pause in difficult situations and make empowered choices in how we want to be and act.
Rehabilitation Counseling
As a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), I’ve received education and training to better support folks with disabilities. Being a CRC has given me the opportunity to work in the field of vocational rehabilitation. I have 5+ years of experience supporting people with disabilities as they adjust to life with a disability and as they return to work or enter the workforce for the first time. Please reach out to us if you have any questions about accessibility and/or accommodations needed for therapy.
Specialties
Career Counseling
My experience in vocational rehabilitation has given me the opportunity to work with folks with a variety of career interests and unique challenges in the workplace. As a mental health counselor with a specialization in career development, I help individuals navigate the emotional and psychological aspects of career exploration and transition. My approach integrates mental wellness with career counseling to support clients facing stress, burnout, identity shifts, and workplace challenges. Whether you're feeling stuck in your current role, questioning your career path, or managing anxiety around change, I provide a supportive space to explore your values, build confidence, and make purposeful, healthy decisions for your future.
Older Adults
My interest in the mental health field began while working in an assisted living community as an activities assistant. I ultimately went on to complete a graduate certificate in Clinical Aging Sciences at the University of South Florida School of Aging Studies. The majority of today's older adults have never had the opportunity to engage in mental health therapy. No matter your age, you deserve to have your voice heard, to reflect on the highs and lows of your past, and to craft meaningful goals for your next chapters. Our office has a no-step entry and we also provide virtual services.
Sarah accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield and Aetna Insurance and is also able to offer self-pay sessions.
